Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-24

This policy governs use of the Nanotoll.dev API. It supplements the Terms of Service; capitalized terms have the meaning given there.

1. Rules of use

  • One free trial key per email address and per IP address. Automated or repeated trial-key creation to circumvent this limit is prohibited.
  • Do not attempt to bypass or defeat rate limits, the inflight limit, payload caps, or the billing model.
  • Do not attempt to access non-public endpoints, other users' accounts, or data other than your own.
  • Do not probe, scan, or overload the Service or its endpoints beyond normal API use.
  • Keep your API key secret. You are responsible for calls made with your key. If a key is compromised, contact the operator (there is no self-service revocation yet; see the Terms).

2. Prohibited content and use

You may not use the Service to process or produce content that:

  • is unlawful in your jurisdiction or the operator's;
  • infringes the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights, unless you have the right to process that content;
  • contains malware or is used to develop, distribute, or operate malicious software;
  • is used for spam, harassment, or deception;
  • is destined for a person, entity or country subject to EU, US, UK, UN or Swiss sanctions or export-control restrictions, or is otherwise prohibited by applicable export-control law.

You may not present a modified or fabricated receipt as a genuine receipt of the Service. Receipts are signed specifically so their integrity can be verified; tampering with one and passing it off as authentic is fraud.

3. Enforcement

The Service enforces limits automatically (HTTP 429 for rate limits, HTTP 402 for insufficient balance). Violations of this policy may lead to key suspension or termination of access under ToS Section 8. Where practicable, the operator will notify the contact address associated with the account first; nothing in this policy obliges the operator to do so in cases of abuse or fraud.

4. Reporting

Report abuse or policy violations to: admin@nanotoll.dev
