Refunds
Automatic refunds, remaining credit, deposit errors and disputes. Last updated: 2026-10-24 This policy covers refunds for the Nanotoll.dev text-compression API. It is part of the Terms of Service and uses the same definitions. If a call is charged and then fails with a server-side error (HTTP 5xx), the fee is refunded automatically. The refund is visible to the customer as Client-side errors (HTTP 4xx) are never charged in the first place: validation (malformed input, payload too large, unusable input) happens before billing, and an insufficient balance returns HTTP 402 with no charge. The Service runs on prepaid credit funded with USDC on Base. Remaining credit balances are refunded on a case-by-case basis: contact admin@nanotoll.dev from the email associated with the account (or include the key_id from a receipt) and state the amount to refund. Refunds are issued in USDC on Base after ownership of the key is verified. Reasonable efforts are made to process valid refund requests within 30 days, subject to applicable payment method limitations. The optional free trial credit is not refundable - it carries no payment and expires on its own terms (see the trial section of the Terms). There are no card chargebacks on the USDC rail. For any dispute, contact admin@nanotoll.dev with the key_id and receipt(s) in question; every billed call carries a signed receipt that discloses what was kept and dropped, which is the basis for resolving disputes. The operator may update this policy at any time. Changes are effective upon publication at this URL; the Last updated date above changes with material edits.Refund Policy
